Last week I spent most of my LFS time in the Dead Men Racing server.  I also saw Somebody there too  (Hi Somebody)  The intro message to the server says they hold a 1 hour timed race every Thursday.  Anyone can enter as long as you are there on time and its not full.

My replacement G25 wheel had only arrived the day before so I thought what good way to test it.  I hadn't done any testing apart from the 7 lap races they had during the week so had no idea about tire wear or fuel needed for an hour, haha.

I joined their server and during the qualifying,  Somebody joined.  What a nice surprise   Smiley  So we both stayed and I think we both had a great race.  Here's a small race report:

The track:  Aston North reverse
The Car:  RB4
The race:  1 hour timed, Forced cockpit view, Compulsory pitstop.

I qualified 4th and Somebody was 8th out of 16 cars.  The first lap I moved into 3rd place but was being harrased by the 4th place guy.  While  Somebody, after dropping a few places, quickly fought his way up to 6th.  Brilliant!
It stayed like that for a while.  Somebody pitted early in the race while I ran with lots of fuel until the later stages.  When I did pit, and just re-fueled enough to complete the race, I exited the pits just behind Somebody who had been doing PB's every other lap!  He was getting faster and faster.
I chased him for a while, then we both went wide on one particular bend where I came off slightly worse and nearly spun around.  I managed to regain control and re-joined without losing any places.  But this was near the end of the race and Somebody was too far in front for me to catch.

The race ended after what seemed like a quick hour with Somebody finishing 4th and me in 5th, out of 13 cars.  A great result for the MIF Racers.

I have saved the replay if anyone wants to watch it, but it weighs in at 11MB

not sure I could manage an hour race, with my back being the way it is I'm usually in pain after 20 mins!

Might get the chance to run a server tonight and have a wee play too MOOO

The racing at Dead Men Racing server is allways great, and the 1 hour race suits me well.
Sadly (not really sadly, but..) i've got a new job, and i have to travell some distance every morning and evening.
Up very early and get home very late, so my racing lately, has been none.. :-(
But yesterday i was at the Dmr-server, and Dee was there too. I dicover'd that, i had to start practice again, was a "little" bit rusty.
But this week's combo is perhaps a little bit tricky, The new City-track with the RAC... But i really like that car...  Wink
The updated City looks much better, but still it's a challange to drive it on the limit. I passed my limit several times yesterday.. Embarrassed

Cya all, and a big MoooOOoooOoo..!
